ALMA AT HOME

Experience professional doula and night nurse care from the comfort of your home

Alma at Home brings the signature touches of the Alma retreat to day & overnight care.

Our approach to postpartum care is based on 4 key pillars:
rest, recovery, learning & enjoyment.

Rest

Choose from daytime or overnight care. Our care team members are experienced in newborn & night care, so that you have time to rest. From diaper changes, to age appropriate activities, our team works with you to develop the right plan for your family. All activities are documented for a seamless transition.

Recover

Every birth and recovery are different, as is the care needed. Our team of doulas, night nurses, and seasoned caregivers ensure you receive the guidance and resources to support your recovery. Footbaths, warming pads, lactation teas and broths are all part of the comprehensive approach to recovery. Additional services such as Postnatal Massage, Lactation Consulting and Nutritions Food Delivery can be arranged through our service providers.

Learn

Alma’s extensive library of workshops can be taught 1:1 at home, providing troubleshooting or planning tips on topics such as breastfeeding, baby health and milestones. Select the topics you are most interested in and our Care Team will come prepared with resources to take you through a personalized workshop in the comfort of your own home.

Enjoy

Take full advantage of our Care Team, and give yourself a moment to enjoy the little things. From 1:1 bonding time while our Care Team does some light meal prep or tidies the nursery, to taking a stroll or lunch with a friend while we provide careful watch over baby at home. Our team members can guide you through the early days with your little one, with age-appropriate activities for you to fully enjoy this time.

What is the difference between a Night Nurse and a Doula?

A Night Nurse (also known as a Night Nanny, Baby Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist, or Overnight Caregiver) and a Doula both provide support to mothers before, during, and after childbirth.

However, a Night Nurse typically focuses on newborn care during the night, helping with feeding, sleep routines, and general newborn care. A Doula offers more comprehensive support, providing physical, emotional, and informational assistance throughout childbirth to ensure a safe and positive experience.

Our team of postpartum specialists are experienced in day and overnight care.

I have support requests that aren't listed in the sample schedule. Will they be available?

Alma at Home is a highly personalized experience tailored to your family's unique needs. We’ll incorporate support in areas that benefit your recovery and your baby’s growth. We understand that needs can vary day by day and are committed to providing the necessary support as situations arise.

Can I speak to my night nurse/care professional before my services?

Absolutely! We are happy to arrange a meeting in advance to ensure a safe, streamlined, and positive experience.
